Lights
I see the flames flickering, ready to die,
The candle lights go out on the table nearby.
The streetlights that flutter, turning sidewalks dark,
The girl with no flashlight, alone in the park.
The dancer pirouetting with precision on stage,
when spotlights shut off, will the show still go on...?
Because the singers cannot sing without light to read their scores
and the bright smile of the actor will soon be no more,
The light of the stars in the sky blink out one by one,
The city lights flicker, sizzling out until there were none.
The pedestrian crossing when the sign would not blink green nor red,
The little boy crying in the shadow
